Winter in February

Well it's finally winter here in Michigan. As of this morning there was no snow on the ground. But it's been snowing since about 9 am and it's not supposed to stop until about noon tomorrow and about 6 inches later. The blanket of white is beautiful. I'll deal with the driving in the morning, but it really doesn't bother me. I love winter. I've never been afraid of snow and have actually missed it this year. Since we have been fortunate to only get a few inches so far this year, I haven't had to deal with a lot of depression due to lack of sunshine. Yes, I'm one of those people who need the sun. With this being February and only about 6 more weeks of winter to go... We have been very blessed. I just hope it doesn't snow the weekend of the wedding. :O)

Here is another page to the catalog. Today I asked my design team to help out with coloring the entire catalog. I'm hoping it will make a nice display for the conventions this year. The scans don't show very good blending. The actual pages look much better. This is one of my favorite pages. I use the apples, pear and bells in my Copics Basics Class to teach coloring and blending.

Another Catalog Page

Here is another page in the catalog. I finally completed a whole catalog sample to take to the printer. I'm hoping to get there tomorrow. This page was simple. Not a whole lot of blending. The colored pages sure do pop though, among the uncolored pages.

Catalog Pages

I've been working on the new version of Xpreshons catalogue. I've had so many ideas running through my head and finally came up with an idea for some color pages. Sooooo, I stayed up late last night working on them. I couldn't stop till I had them done. I colored them with Prisma Markers. They are very similar to Copics, but not quite as friendly. I had a hard time blending, as they don't have a small chisel tip or a brush tip. They have a very small detail tip, which works really well for coloring, and a very large chisel tip, which works for... well it works. AND the blender doesn't work as well as the Copic blender. It was a challenge getting to know them and what they could do... but after a couple of pages I couldn't stop. I did 7 altogether. Here is just one for now.

Designer Spotlight

Today the March 2010 edition of Scrap & Stamp Arts hit the newstand. I was so excited for this issue since I was chosen to be in the Designer Spotlight. Not only did they honor me with the article, but they put in 3 of my cards as well. I snuck a mention of the store in there, too. :O)

April Rose

This is one of our new designs. Just in time for Valentine's Day. Colored with Copics and pop dotted onto a pink layer that was punched with a Fiskers Border/Corner combo punch and then layered onto dark pink 5x7 card.

Baby Turtel

Just had to share another Baby Turtle card. I don't know what it is about this cute little guy but he's got me hooked! The Caribbean colors just make him look at home. Colored with Copics, background paper is a Cuttlebug folder. Buttons and dew drops embellish the side and some black & gold sticker borders to outline the edges. I'd love to join him swimming in the ocean right now. He looks so relaxed.
